What are credits?

Credits are the unit of consumption in DGbot's billing system. Every time the AI generates a response, credits are consumed. Your plan includes a monthly credit allowance; when it runs out, you can top up or upgrade.

One credit ≈ one economy-tier message response. Advanced model responses cost more credits per message.

How credits are consumed

Credits are consumed per AI response, not per message sent. The cost depends on:

Model tier:

TierModelsCredits per response (approx.)
EconomyGPT-4o mini, Claude Haiku1
StandardGPT-4o, Claude Sonnet3–5
AdvancedGPT-4o, Claude Opus8–15

The actual credit cost scales with the length of the conversation context and the length of the response. Short factual answers consume fewer credits than long explanations.

Tool calls: Tool calls (Shopify lookups, custom API calls) consume a small additional credit budget for the orchestration overhead — typically 0.5 credits per tool call.

Plan credits vs. top-up credits

DGbot has two credit pools:

Plan credits — Included in your monthly subscription. Reset at the start of each billing cycle. Unused plan credits do not roll over to the next month.

Top-up credits — Purchased separately in blocks. Consumed only after plan credits are exhausted. Never expire.

When a visitor sends a message, DGbot draws from plan credits first, then top-up credits.

Top up before you run out
If you hit zero credits, the bot stops responding mid-conversation. Set up auto top-up in Billing settings to avoid disruptions.

Monitor your usage

Go to Billing → Overview to see your current credit balance, daily usage trend, and a projection of when your plan credits will run out based on recent usage.
